Course Description

This course will prepare you to lead a non-profit organization in Canada. You’ll explore the key elements of a successful non-profit and the issues that board directors and executive directors face, including a non-profit’s legal foundations, unique governance and human systems, and resource requirements. You will also examine best practices and trends in communications, fund development and risk management. Integrating practical learning into theoretical discussion, this course recognizes participants as experts who bring something to the table that all of us can learn from—whether that is experience in the field or life experience others don’t share.
