Course Description

A critical understanding of history is essential to designing and delivering equitable healthcare. In this course, you'll learn the ways history has influenced our healthcare systems, and how those systemic barriers prevent people from accessing equitable healthcare. You'll also examine some implicit and explicit processes, systems and structures that shape healthcare access and services. You will gain the knowledge needed to analyze the normalized structures of marginalization that perpetuate healthcare inequities for Black, Indigenous, People of Colour and other marginalized communities, and develop the skills to identify and address these issues as they arise in your daily work.
