Course Description

Public engagement is often touted as the solution to complex problems facing our communities. How do we know which approach to choose, how do we engage in an inclusive and equitable manner, and how do we do this without causing harm?

In this course, you will establish a foundation for the essentials of dialogue and civic engagement by learning some key frameworks. You'll consider the power dynamics involved in engagement, and learn how to identify the right dialogue process for different issues and contexts. You will also explore how knowledge of self influences practice and is integral to increased inclusion and accessibility in dialogue and engagement work.
