Course Description
Editing is necessary for any written material, whether it's produced for professional, academic or personal purposes.
This course will introduce you to the editing knowledge and skills you will need to improve your own writing and those of others. You will explore the four stages of editing—structural, stylistic, copy editing and proofreading—and examine how each stage supports your central goal: ensuring that material is consistent and correct; that its content, language, style and design suit its purpose; and that the text effectively meets the needs of its intended audience.
The final assignment is due one week after the course ends.
